Dissertation Topic: A question of double allégeance? Transformations of the positions of Jewish intellectuals in France during the 1960s.

Abstract: The Ph.D. project focusses on the question of Jewish and (trans-)national self-positioning between France and Israel during the aftermath of the French colonial empire, regarding religion and colonialism at the turning points of Algerian (1954-1962) and Six Day War (1967). Katharina Hey is fellow of the International Research Training Group "Religious Cultures in the 19th- and 20th century Europe." Her Ph.D. project is a cotutelle de thèse with the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris.
