Panel discussion: The end of an era? Israel in the election year 2019

Prof. Dr. Stephan Stetter (Munich), Dr. Noam Zadoff (Munich/Innsbruck), and Dr. Daniel Mahla (Munich)

On November 6, the Center for Israel Studies hosts a panel discussion with Prof. Stephan Stetter (Munich), Dr. Noam Zadoff (Munich/Innsbruck), and Dr. Daniel Mahla (Munich) under the title "The latest election results in Israel and the new government".

The Jewish state has had a turbulent election year: Israelis have been called on twice to vote on their national parliament. Since Benjamin Netanyahu, as the leader of the strongest parliamentary group, failed to form a government after the April 2019 elections, another election was scheduled for September. In fact, Israel is deeply divided. It is not just about social tensions and the conflict with the Palestinians. The democratic foundations of the Jewish state are also under attack. The podium discussion reflects the turbulence of the 2019 election year and discusses its importance for the future of Israel.

The event will be hosted by Dr. Lou Bohlen (Munich) and takes place in the main building of the LMU.
